A couple years ago I had the extreme pleasure of working with producer Brett Hestla in Orlando, FL. You might know him as the singer of Dark New Day, but he’s produced some incredible artists including Framing Hanley. Anyone who knows Brett knows he’s got a surplus of personality. Spend any time with the man, and you’re bound to pick some up! He’s as contagious as a case of the measles.
One of the many things that made working with Brett so much fun is he’d completely bastardized the word “blog”. He would use it as a verb. He would use it as an adjective. He would replace four-letter words with a new one: B-L-O-G. You didn’t walk down to the convenience store, you blogged on down. If you were upset, he’d say, “Why don’t you just blog about it?”
It just so turns out that blogging about things is something I also like to do. Is he to blame? Uncertain. But what is certain is I have taken my love for all things media production and blended it with my love for blogging!
Introducing, The Media Production Nerd Zone.
My hope is to see it grow into an online community of production peers, sharing tips and ideas. Because of the wide scope of Bravo Productions’ capabilities, all kinds of media production will be discussed – from how to record a piano in stereo to simple After Effects expressions. You don’t have to be an audiophile or gear head to appreciate a conversation like that. You only need to be curious. So I invite you to join me on the ground floor of this new blog, and let’s expand our repertoires together!
